We are seeking a vibrant, enthusiastic teacher to join our outback schoolroom.
We have 3 fun loving children aged 10, 8 and 7 (2 girls 1 boy).  In Yrs  6, 4 and 2.    We are a family owned and operated beef cattle enterprise located west of Springsure in Central Queensland, 2 hours from Emerald.

While there are no other permanent staff on the station there are contractors here for mustering and other work throughout the year.  You would be welcome to join with what is happening (eg any part of station life you are interested in seeing).  Please ask us if you would like to participate in anything as sometimes we forget to offer.

Even though the position is working/living very closely with the family you will have time to yourself – that is, time after school and the weekends are yours.  There is opportunity for social interactions in nearby centres of Springsure, Tambo and Emerald. 


Salary Package
Wages  negotiable depending on experience
Wage package includes separate self contained accommodation, basic meals, electricity, wifi internet and access to landline telephone.

The air conditioned schoolroom is separate from the house.  It is well equipped with resources and a reading/library area.

Seperate self‑contained accommodation – 1 bedroom, kitchen and laundry facilities.
Satellite TV
Linen supplied - if preferred can bring your own.


Home Tutor of 3 children,  two girls in Year 6 and 4 and a boy in Yr 2 studying via Capricornia School of Distance Education Emerald Campus
To take on the day to day running of the schoolroom.  This includes preparing for and implementing/supervising the weekly program.  Supervise the children's telephone lessons and unit work and help, revise and extend as needed.  The home tutor is required to attend minischool, cluster days, sports carnivals and other co curricular activities with the family.
General cleaning of the family home and preparing meals is not expected, but any offers of help are appreciated.
Hours of work:
School hours are generally 8:00am – 3.00pm Monday to Friday, plus Home Tutor will require additional time to prepare lessons. Home Tutor is encouraged to include extracurricular activities for the children outside of school if time permits, i.e. cooking, science experiments, physical exercise.
Week day morning/afternoon tea and lunch will be provided by/shared with the family.
Breakfast, evening meal and weekend meals are self prepared with food provided.

No mobile phone connection available. 
Landline phone in schoolroom.
Wi-Fi Satellite Internet access in the schoolroom and outbuildings.
First Aid & Working With Children Check:
First Aid Certificate and QLD Blue card (Working with Children Check) REQUIRED
Other Conditions:
On the odd occasion, at busy times the home tutor may be required to care for the children for short periods.
The position is full time for the whole school term to ensure the best continuity for the children.
